In the Field @ Art-A-Whirl

CLASS DESCRIPTIONLearn what it takes to bring your storytelling on-location! From producing short films to covering events like Art-A-Whirl, join us for tips and tricks on optimizing your environment for impactful results. During class, you’ll practice as a SPEAK MPLS Crew member to help with Art-A-Whirl event video coverage!You'll get hands-on experience with the SPEAK MPLS field production kit, and a toolkit for how to plan and execute a video production outside of the studio.  You’ll work in a small cohort to practice with handheld 4K JVC cameras, wireless microphones, tripods, LED lights and C-Stands. You’ll walk away with a confidence in using the SPEAK MPLS field production kit outside of the studio, and the tools to approach various field conditions and situations.DETAILSRegistration closes on Friday, May 16th at 9pm.$60 for non-members / $30 for SPEAK MPLS membersThis in-person class initially meets at the SPEAK MPLS Northeast studio, located within the Waterbury Building at 1121 Jackson Street NE Studio #128, Minneapolis, MN 55413. He is passionate about bringing voices together to creatively tell stories. As a media maker and member of the LGBTQ+ community, he strongly believes that media is a powerful tool for sharing experiences and healing. James is also energized by creating opportunities for youth to use media to tell their own stories. In his spare time, James enjoys playing video games, watching horror movies, and playing Dungeons and Dragons!INTRODUCTORY LEVEL CLASSThis class is perfect for beginners and open to all skill levels!
